Men and families looking for addiction treatment have many options to choose from. There are five levels of care available dependent on potential needs. Of these, Partial Hospital Program or PHP is the third most supportive level of care that leaves evenings and weekends available for independent living. Based on the severity of a man’s addiction and complexity of co-occurring disorders, a man may require attending First Step Center Partial Hospitalization Program because he requires a significant number of hours each day in which the rehab program intervenes to establish a foundation in recovery.
What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program?
A Partial Hospital Program is a hospital based, non-residential treatment program that allows individuals to maintain a significant level of independence by staying in their personal homes or an alternative sober living environment. PHP programming is held six to eight hours daily up to five days a week.
Living independently while attending in a partial hospitalization program allows clients to develop healthy, pro-recovery relationships. These friendships can extend far beyond the partial hospitalization program and become lifetime support systems.
At the First Step Center, clients participate in programs at the outpatient center eight hours a day, five days a week. Some of these programs include:
- Individual, group, and family therapy
- Social skills training
- Psychological education
- Emotion management skills training
- Experiential therapy
During their time attending the outpatient center, clients may access the business center as scheduled with the treatment team or benefit from using the relaxing services available in the brain center.
